Where does Toronto's median wage data come from?

The main source of information used to calculate wages is the Labour Force Survey published by Statistics Canada.

This survey is the most comprehensive, up-to-date, and objective source of occupational pay data; however, it is conducted with a sample of respondents, and the data may be restricted for reasons of confidentiality or data quality.

Alternative sources are used in cases where data from the Labour Force Survey is not available, including:

1. Program information from Employment and Social Development Canada, including Employment Insurance program survey data

2. Administrative statistics, surveys conducted on a provincial and territorial level, and census data

3.Two additional administrative data agencies are the Canadian Medical Association and the Canadian Institute for Health Information.

4. Additional resources, if relevant
