IRCC Minister To Reveal New Canada Immigration Plan

The Strategic Immigration Review report and the new Canada Immigration plan to enhance the system will be unveiled by Canadian Immigration Minister Marc Miller.

Today, October 31, 2023, at 1:15 p.m. EST (Toronto time), the announcement will be made. Once it goes live, you can watch it below:

What this announcement could be?

An Immigration Levels Plan, published annually by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), establishes targets for the overall number of individuals admitted to Canada as permanent residents during the ensuing three years.

The revised immigration levels plan for 2024–2026 must be made public by November 1st. Planning forward and meeting the requirements of the current population are the two goals of the Canadian government's immigration targets.

The IRCC proposed Canada's highest-ever immigration objectives in the previous year's plan, aiming for 500,000 new permanent residents yearly by the end of 2025. Canada's immigration system cannot handle the massive demand, which is only anticipated to rise, even with annual record objectives.

The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) has also just published a fresh report with six important recommendations.

In response to these suggestions, the Canadian immigration minister has hinted that additional enhancements to the system may be announced, particularly with regard to online platforms for refugee programs.

Furthermore, given this fits with the timeframe, it's possible that the immigration minister will announce revisions together with the revised Canada immigration levels plan for 2024–2026.

To find out what comes out of the IRCC's surprise box tomorrow, we will have to wait and observe the minister's statement.

As we await Canadian Immigration Minister Marc Miller's announcement today, Canada's immigration system appears poised for transformation with the release of the new Immigration Levels Plan for 2024–2026. The Auditor General's recent recommendations add to the anticipation, hinting at potential enhancements, particularly in online platforms for refugee programs.
